Remember the coffee pot prototype I showed you in the last post? Well here's the actual product:
13" high with wooden beads on the wire wrapped handle and wooden beads for feet. It's hollow on the inside and the top comes off so you could fill it with something - do they make coffee scented potpourri?
The fabric on the outside of the pot is muslin that I dyed with coffee. I actually dyed up a bunch yesterday:
And there's nothing like a whole day in the studio by myself to put me in a give away kinda mood so if you'd like a piece of this fabric I'm going to give away 3 fat quarter sized pieces. Just leave me a comment by Sunday and I'll draw three names on Monday morning. Last time I did a give away I got 70 comments. Maybe we can get to 80 this time? If we do I'll give away 4 pieces :)
I know I'm too late for the coffee fabric (bummer) - but this coffee pot is FANTASTIC!!! Love it....

Every day I have to drink coffee and therefore I love your coffee-dyed fabric and the coffee-pot. This weekend I made a coffee-bag, you can see it tomorrow on my blog.

Love the way your fabric turned out! I can see a lot of possibilities for that!

I started with the post about making the coffee dyed fabric and worked back. Your coffee-pot made with the fabric was a wonderful surprise. Coffee stain is so different from tea, and I just love it.

coffee ! coffee! Its an interesting way of creating a fabric!

I love the super-dark marbled effect you've achieved. I've never gotten that dark of a stain with coffee or tea. I'll have to try the 'crumple and leave' technique!
When I've played with overdying, I'm so impatient to see what the dye has done to the fabric that I don't let it sit long enough.
Thanks for the offer of the fatQ - I'd love it!

Hi Sue
First-timer to your site - love your amazing work, really inspirational - was even inspired (by the thought of a piece of your lovely coffee fabric!) to send you this e-mail - don't suppose a piece could find its way all the way to New Zealand could it??????

Personally, I think you should try a double shot expresso for dye ! The fabrics are great .. a deeper color than the teas I use !Thanks for sharing your creativity !

Sue... I am SUCH a Tea drinker that I never think to dye with coffee.... MUST TRY now that summer is here and things can do outside to dry.
I have been LOVIN' your blog and the projects on Fibre&Stitch!

love this fabric, did you use instant or filter coffee, how strong, how long? the last time I dyed something with coffee the smell lasted for ages.

Fabulous Sue. When I first looked I thought you too had been having a go at the rust dyeing! Looks good.
