I managed to finish up the last sample for the book making class: the Dos-a'-dos book:
I used amate bark paper for this book and the inside is filled with banana paper. That's another one of Gina's awesome clay pieces on the front. I love the way it looks on this book.
I have fallen head over heels for soy wax batiking so I decided to buy myself a little present:
An Indonesian Copper Batik Tjap from Dharma Trading. These things sell almost instantly after they're posted on the Dharma website but I was lucky enough to grab this one. It's a large one, each of the flowers measure about 3" at their widest point. Now I just need a rain free day so I can set up outside and use it!

Ooooh, lucky girl! I've wanted one of those tjaps forever. My sister goes to India occasionally and she knows next time NOT to come home without one for me! Can't wait to see your results using it.

Another great book; the 'two-in-one' is really cool! And I'm so pleased that my clay tag has found such a place of honor.
I'm looking forward to seeing the gorgeous fabrics you'll create with the Tjap!
